Three Sisters

In August 2011, in the Kermanshah region in Iran, a prisoner took a leave of absence from prison after seven years of imprisonment. On the very last day of his prison leave, he kills his teenage daughters with an AK-47.
According to Islamic laws in Iran, a father is the owner of his children’s blood. Therefore, he can only be sentenced to half a year in prison for the killing of his daughters.
“When I was 20 years old and a student at the Art University of Tehran, I saw the video of Mehtab, Mahsa, and Laden, who were victims of honor killings in Kermanshah. I promised
myself that one day I would make a film about the tragedy for the whole world to witness the atrocity against the women in my country. After 12 years when I pursued becoming a filmmaker, I found the opportunity to start my film project about the three sisters.”

Aprés ma mére

Rokhsar, vingt-cinq ans, réfugiée afghane installée à Poitiers depuis deux ans, découvre un matin sa mère morte dans leur lit. Sous le choc, elle quitte l’appartement sans déclarer le décès et part pour Paris, espérant trouver un moyen de rapatrier le corps vers l’Afghanistan.
L’histoire s’inspire directement d’un épisode réel : une jeune femme afghane, Rokhsar, que j’ai connue lorsque je vivais moi-même dans un centre pour demandeurs d’asile à Poitiers. C’est là, dans cet endroit suspendu, que j’ai observé ses silences, sa solitude, ses gestes minuscules pour survivre dans un pays où tout lui était étranger. De cette rencontre est née l’idée du court-métrage Ma mère est morte en rêvant, tourné en décembre 2025 avec le soutien du CNC, d’Arte et de la Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. La version long-métrage prolonge cette histoire, en approfondissant son espace intérieur et le chemin invisible du deuil.
